I understand the point that Dems could lose some incumbents and I think it is kind of unlikely that they will take back the Senate. But I don't think they are going to do terrible enough that the Republicans will get 60 seats.

Dean is a lame duck at this point. He will run but NV shifted blue underneath him. He is going to get the boot same as Gov. Sandoval.
AZ will probably flip. Hell TN is expected to flip (that's 52 votes). TX is still a toss up (that'd be 53).
When McCain kicks the bucket his seat will also go for election. So democrats can pick up 5 seats for a total of 54.
This also means that up to 3 of the vulnerable democrats (cough cough DONNELLY, cough cough McCaskill) can lose and we'd still get majority.
The elections in VA and AL really caused some serious headwinds for republicans. If you are living in red state, and suddenly fucking Alabama flips out of the blue, then your "my vote doesn't count :/" mentality should go out the window.
