Everyone involved in this is sooo worried about how they appear publicly...they are willing keep posturing until it kills any compromise.

No doubt in my mind that Durbin used his remark as a political weapon to put him in a PR "scandal" in which his only chance at redemption is accepting the DV lottery to go to TPS. Then they should see it thru...go back to him & present another offer that includes just that...
