It seems clear to me that Democrats have decided that DACA isn't worth saving if it means giving concessions on lowering legal immigration.

The White House and Kelly have decided that they will not save DACA if it does not bring with it a reduction in legal immigration.

I get where the democrats are coming from. DACA has been a lot of trouble for them with very little benefit. They were trying hard for us because they truly wanted to save us. But they finally realized that the White House was going to use that empathy against them to try to get as many concessions as possible. So instead, they'll use this as a wedge issue during the 2018 elections to try to get more votes.

Truly, if you're a democratic US senator, what's the point of giving up wall + diversity lottery + family reunification for DACA? Much better for them politically to just forget about it.
