Like anywhere else in the workplace, whether you get treated well depends on the leadership in the unit. That's true of both active duty and Reserve units. There are MAVNIs who are happy with their Reserve units, and MAVNIs who are unhappy with their active duty units. Whether the unit command climate is positive (or not) doesn't depend on whether the unit is "active duty" or "Reserve"--it depends on the command climate, and whether the unit has good leadership. If you are facing discrimination, file an IG or EO complaint.
