actually it is your attitude and outlook in life that will get you legalized, if you depend so much on government and waiting for something to happen then nothing will truly will happen for u.
as you said nothing will happen, so find a USC wife, get work sponsorship, move to a country that will accept your credentials.
no fate but what we make. peoples attitude say alot what your outlook is in life.
