Looks like it's the Collin's bill or nothing for Democrats, especially for the centrist/traditionalist Senators that do want to find common ground.

I knew the whole idea of giving the parents of DACA/Dreamers wouldn't play well.

If Sen. Coons is willing to vote for it, I bet most Dem Senators will, except the 1 or 2 hardcore leftists.

The main issue will be how many Republicans will vote for it and kind of "ignore" the White House at least for now so there's a bill passing in from the Senate.

Worst case scenario is both chambers pass different bills and they agree to go to conference.

A lot of bills have to go to conference, because passing a bill from one house to the other to just accept doesn't make sense, since it has to be a "bipartisan, bicameral" approach.

Or if the White House is lobbied by the 15-30 Republican Senators that may end up voting for it in the Senate, I'm sure bipolar/multiple personality disorder in Chief would just ask Ryan to call up the bill or ask for minor modifications in the form of a House amendment.

I'm feeling good about this...tomorrow I'm gonna be stuck to C-SPAN 2 lol
