She entered her car with the intention of driving before she became aggravated. She’s a 28 year old women. Do you really think this was the first time she was making a judgement call on whether or not she was drunk enough to get in the car? As much as you might think that everyone should follow the law religiously, sometimes situations require common sense. She didn’t feel drunk enough and probably had experiences when she had gotten herself home safey after drinking two beers and didn’t think she needed anyone to pick her up from the bar.
You really want to lock her up for years and then take away the one thing that provided some relief from the ptsd: her path to citizenship?

A DUI shouldn't end anyone's life.
He did mess up but had he been a citizen his life wouldn't have changed so drastically.

This. I agree with Pianos on a lot of things but I would have to say that if a drunk driver didn’t kill anyone or cause serious injury/damage, their life shouldn’t be over because of a DUI. It’s a mistake. People have their reasons and their lives shouldn’t be ruined and they shouldn’t lose their immigration status because of it. I think fines and license suspension is fair for DUIs that don’t hurt other people.
