Then she will only prove what many of us are accusing Dems of: playing politics. Are they to tell us to wait until they legalize us without any border security concessions? When will that happen? It's a shitty move to tell us to wait for the midterm (which really won't change anything) or the presidential election (Trump is not guaranteed to lose).
