Instead it's wall, wall, wall, wall, wall. Then when he was offered a wall for dream act he turned it down because muh 4 pillars (gutting family immigration and DV lottery).

Right now democrats aren't playing ball and are riding out the incoming blue wave. This is why he's trying to cut his losses, because when a blue congress comes he isn't getting anything aside "Donald Trump is a doo doo head act of 2019" hitting his desk, Russian sanctions, ICE cutbacks, and all other fun stuff that his supporters will absolutely love.

Would he take a Dream Act + Wall deal today? No, and the reason for that is his ill psychology, for Donald there is no mutual benefit, there are winners and there are losers in 1:1 proportion. Unless the trade is hilariously lopsided in his favor he's the loser on it and he'll never accept that.
