Why is E-Verify so controversial, 20 out of 50 US States already make it mandatory and here in California which is voluntarily a lot of employers are opting in to use it.

I’m not a E-Verify fan but if it’s already being implemented in most US states then might as well make it mandatory if it means us getting a permanent fix.

Not trying to sell out our undocumented community but E-verify is the inevitable. Plus E-verify is only implemented on new hires, so if you already have a job and you’re undocumented then you’re good, E-verify can not be used on existing employees.
