are you sure they are a good lawyer?
It's true that you don't necessarily have to submit all the evidence when submitting your application, but in the current climate, I don't know why you wouldn't. Especially if there's a chance it speeds up a process that already takes too long. It's called front-loading the application. Did they at least go over the evidence you need to gather for the interview?
At the very least, you do have to submit all the information required for the i864 and evidence of financial support (taxes, w-2s, etc). Did they go into that?
The medical can be done/submitted before the interview. I submitted one with the application, and had to do another one before the interview (1 year and 1 week). good luck!
