You forgot a key component though, the military is made up of commoners who would most likely not harm civilians. Civilians are not the enemy of the military, but what is going on with the militarization of police, is that more and more people are waking up to flash bangs in their houses and even a fucking flash bang thown into a baby's crib.

Protests can be eliminated under the guise of preventing a riot, there are people who routinely employ instigators to cause protests to become violent and justify the need of government force against protesters. Not only that but there exist paid protest groups, which make the whole exercise annoying to everyone not involved, a waste of time, and a fools errand. Protesters often run out into the highway and cause massive inconveniences for everyone not involved. Some have even been hit by cars.

Notice how you did not manage to prove me wrong that a bad guy with a gun can only be stopped by a good guy with a gun. What are you gonna do hug a terrorist?

Ballot power?! HA TRUMP is president. There's your so called ballot power in action. You want ballot power, take a look at how trump won with the MINORITY of voters. More people voted for hillary. So much for that check and balance.

You want more awesome ballot power? How about the politicians that keep their congressional seat basically for life? How long has fine-stein been in office? We need term limits, cause the ballot power is just enriching the wrong people and screwing the common folks.

You really think its a check and balance for congress to continuously raise their own salaries? To be near unaccountable to the public? To provide onerous regulation under the guise of protecting the consumer so that their industry pals win out over mom and pop shops?

The founding fathers never intended for the government to get so large and out of hand. The welfare state should've never been implemented in the first place. Getting government out of people's lives and affairs for only the most basic things is what they intended. Local government that is accountable to you. Not some idiot in washington who you call and call but never does anything of value. Who spends 2/3rds of the year on vacation. Who is worried more about their political seat than your well-being.
