I've heard about people filing for citizenship while the ROC case is pending to expedite it. But doesn't it sound like the kind of workaround that USCIS will catch up to and eventually disallow?

To clarify, do you mean that you're allowed to submit the N-400 and I-751 at the same time?

P.S. What's everyone submitting for ROC evidence?
We have an apartment leased with both of our names/ renter insurance/ car insurane/ joint bank account checking and savings/ joint credit card/ utility bills/ joint tax return/ and affidavits

should be sufficient for ROC evidence i think-
