I'm 30 right now. That bipartisan effort between McCain and Kennedy was under Bush Admin way before the 2010 failed DA vote. Here's a sample article.

Just starting to think about those times brings tears in my eyes. Those were TOUGH times for a young high school kid who is looking forward to getting a drivers license and other things. I understand now that I was wrong in throwing my tantrums at home and now I appreciate those struggles and realize that was NOTHING compared to the struggle that actual adulthood brings (regardless of immigration status). But I do credit myself of being very knowledgeable at the time about immigration. Back then my family used to HATE Sessions because he was always on the Senate floor trying to strike deals down. But I still remember McCain and Kennedy spearheaded these efforts in good faith.
