Urgency causes congress to act. No urgency nothing happens.

How many bills did they try to pass?
how many bills did they try to pass during obama when there was not a sense of urgency. (after DACA was created.)

Congress has not changed since 2016 except for special elections (all republican majority controlled). The white house has not changed since 2016 in terms of policy. The Supreme court has gotten more republican since 2016. So dems have less leverage now than they did in 2016, if you think they even had leverage back then. The only leverage comes when the house flips on Jan. 3rd. There is no leverage now. Trump has always wanted his wall, nothing has changed.
You're giving up your safety net for urgency. In return, you hope that republicans will help you. If you believe that's the only way then you really think highly of them despite the policies they've proposed and they way they negotiated. If DACA is removed, all it does is give republicans leverage. Republicans don't see DACA as an urgency or else they wouldn't have thrown in the 4 pillars to kill the DACA / wall deal. They wanted the deal to die. Remember, Trump gave congress 6 months and they got nothing done in those 6 months. Then came the injunction from the court that allowed DACA to renew.
How many bills did they pass? What does that even mean? It's a republican controlled Congress. Both speakers are republican. Dems don't control the legislative agenda at all. Dems had to shut down the government to even get a senate vote on DACA (and if you recall, trump's DHS at 2 AM released some bogus report to derail the votes).
