It's a reasonable temporary solution and if it is for that length of time, it would keep up from being used as a pawn again by Trump, should he be re-elected next year. It gives us a decent amount of time to find a viable option for legalization (i.e. marriage) on our own terms. My concern is for those with EWIs who have not been able to clear them previously and are shut out of the current immigration system.

Once DACA is locked in legislatively that is it. It will just keep being extended legislatively.
