Gun removal is just an example, not the point. To say that lots of illegal things get through the border, it's the same at the airport. Numbers are numbers, you cay say $25 billion is worth protecting 1 person because 6 terrorists can kill one person. Then you must be willing to spend 3.8 trillion to stop 4000 terrorist to protect 667 people. Again, the entire budget of the country for 2018 is around ~4 trillion. America would be more than broke, it'd grind to a halt. The cost to benefit ratio is unrealistic. By the way, a wall by itself does nothing. All you need is a ladder. You can dig below the wall. What you need in addition to the wall is people, which costs more than just the wall. That additional cost isn't even being factored in.
On the topic of just "terrorists" coming into the USA. 3994 come through airports but 6 comes through the border. You'd rather spend 5.7 billion to get 6 people than the other 3994?
Let me put it this way. Your body has 4000 cancer cells. One treatment costs $5.7 billion to kill 6 cells. The other treatment kills 3994 cells and costs $7.58 billion. Tell me which one you'd take.
7.58 billion is the budget for TSA and for those that actually care about "terrorists", you should be yelling for the TSA to be funded but no one gives a damn.
People say we don't want illegals because they take our jobs (money, which is a limited resource should go to Americans) but they're the same ones that think spending $3.8 trillion per year (DOUBLING government spending putting the government in a deficit of $4.58 TRILLION PER YEAR assuming you don't raise taxes) is ok among other things. If you do this, you cannot call yourself fiscally responsible.
This is the kind of crap I hate. No one in the right mind thinks this makes sense or feasible. No one in their real life would ever look at the number 6 and say it's 4000. It's how toxic politics are.
All I've done here is to extrapolate the numbers and the specific topic in question is stopping potential terrorists coming from to the US. 4000 potential terrorists, vast majority stopped at the airport / international airport. I've also put things into perspective in respect to budgets of the TSA and total US government budget for 2018. For some reason, doing this is biased.
