If you say in 2008 the democrats "wanted it to fail", that can be argued. But to say that this is the current democrat's sentiment is wrong as you've ignored recent events. If I tell you someone voted democrat in 2008 but voted republican every single election after that to now, would you still argue that person is a democrat today?

Perhaps it stems from personal anger or something but making these arguments are not logical as it favors old events, ignoring more recent events, in order to make a statement about the current sentiment. At best it's an emotional response, at worst it's malice.

Therefore, such an argument should deserve nothing but *crickets* from the people here. We are in 2019, not in 2008.
in other words, you're basically saying "things not cooperating with my political affiliaton shouldn't be taken into consideration ever."
nice 1984 tactic. the sentiment of his post was to shed light on how the party has treated the issue. i think it's pretty relevant.
