Would I need to go the waiver route and go back to my country for consular interview or would I be able to have the removal order removed and adjust while in the US? Also, would it be better to wait for the result of 2020 election or does that matter?
I'm asking here because I went to 2 lawyers and got conflicting answers.

I’ve seen few people here mention that they had a removal order but they still got the green card. I think you may need a waiver. It’s best to consult with an experienced lawyer. You don’t need a waiver to overcome the 3/10 ban if married to a USC, therefore you can adjust here. Election results don’t matter. However, Dream Act and/or CIR could pass by then. Are you on DACA now?
