I'm not sure if this is already included in the new Public charge rules and is now expanding to ALL visa applicants or the insurance requirement is in addition to the public charge changes which may require $8K in a bond. My understanding is that it's in addition to that so they'd have to buy an overpriced junk insurance in addition to the bond.
