Not sure how much other evidence you have, but filing taxes together is usually considered a big factor when they consider the validity of the marriage. it's not the only one, but again it depends how much other evidence you have to show co-mingling of financial resources. Even if you meet the requirements for the i-864 through a co-sponsor, taxes are likely to come up at some point (ie I-130 review or interview).
