Directly and openly defying the SC is like defying the will of the constitution. If any politician did this before 2017, they would be impeached, and that call to impeach would be led by conservatives. It's crazy how much a party can change in 3 years.

Please. There would be a MUCH larger backlash if today's action was to fully rescind and not just an action to reduce benefits and review the possibility of rescinding.
Also, he is technically not defying SCOTUS to my understanding. They said that he needs to provide proper justification and follow the appropriate legal means to rescind the program.... They did not rule the program to be constitutional, which a lot of people do not understand nor did they mention anything about his ability to limit benefits. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
