I am suspicious about their use of "protection" within "protection for dreamers" bit. We already have protections. We need citizenship, not more "protections".

That is understandable. Both bills will start out extreme left and right. And when the compromise happens, they will come in the middle but at the minimum Dreamers need conditional permanent residency, nothing less. We need to improve our messaging, "Path to conditional residency/citizenship" is much better than "we need citizenship." Its impossible to become citizen immediately. That is what kills our chances with the right. A massive deal is there to be had.
