It is clear that under Biden and Harris, there would have been no difference in the handling of immigration issues and separating families. Leaked memos have revealed that Biden and Harris were actually expanding immigration detention capacity in multiple states since September 2024.
This contradicts the narrative that Democrats were attacking President-elect Trump for his deportation plans, as they were preparing for their own expanded detention of immigrants. It is important to acknowledge that this type of hypocrisy only gave President Trump a head start to launch the largest mass deportation effort in U.S. history. Just like with Obama, who was the first President to put kids in cages, it is evident that under Biden and Harris, the situation would have remained the same.

At this point, I have no expectations. However, I am hopeful that we can make progress. I have highlighted the positive comments made by President Trump regarding DACA and being open to negotiating a deal. We had not received any clarity from the Biden/Harris administration in their first 4 years, so it is important to be proactive in finding solutions, and for the record I have a plan B.
