"first deport criminals" WTF does that even mean? All criminals? Some criminals? What is a criminal? When will that realistically happen so that in his head, it is satisfactory enough to begin providing benefits to non-criminal aliens?
None of what Rand Paul is saying is specific, so you can't take his hot gas seriously. You all fall for the orange felons' hot gas, so no surprise there.
This also does not take into consideration how Ds are in no way going to give Trump and Rs any win on immigration closer to midterms.
Work on your plan B instead of grasping at straws.

What solution is Rand Paul actually proposing here? LOL. There is nothing except empty words. This is not a "positive step" as you describe it. It's meaningless talking from a meaningless politician that is a con and flip flopper.

Why are you dismissing his words as empty? He is initiating the conversation, and progress won't happen overnight. Their priority is immigration enforcement and proving to the American people that they are taking action.
I fail to see why there is so much outrage over this. Was there similar outrage when Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer said, "We can't just let (DACA) occupy the whole stage"? Isn't this what you mean by "empty words"?
It is clear that one party is committed to enforcing immigration laws while remaining open to future solutions. On the other hand, the other party is advocating for not deporting individuals, allowing more people in, and granting them status. However, they are not willing to fully support our cause as they believe it is all-encompassing.
I am genuinely trying to understand this situation. It's not a matter of "choosing a side", but rather using common sense and clear messaging.
Regarding Rand Paul being a flip-flopper, let me be clear: this is the second statement he has made in the last two months advocating for a path for "good immigrants" to stay here. I was just as surprised as anyone to see him supporting us, especially considering he lives in deep red Kentucky.
