The queue is broken.
If all are lumped together, then someone's parents from, let's say India, China, or Mexico(the three countries with the largest backlogs), have priority over a farmworker who has been toiling for 20-30 years to feed the nation and pays taxes.
Or a Dreamer nurse.
Or a TPS business owner.
Or much needed construction workers.

The system is broken and no longer serves the nation's interests.
