AOC is just like the rise of the tea party back in 201X during the Obama presidency. The tea party pulled the republicans farther right. Now it's happening on the dems' side.

You are 100% right that legislation is a team effort. Due to the rise of partisanship politics, Congress has been gridlocked for longer and longer.

That's why policies with 70%+ support aren't being passed and makes Congress ineffective at legislation. That's why EO is being used heavily by Obama and Trump.

Ray Dalio said something like when it comes to the economy, democrats are bad at growing the pie and republicans are bad at dividing the pie. The best policy for the economy would come when both parties work together on such a important issue but due to the current state of the Congress, it's hard to see that happening. There isn't any obvious solution either. It's sad to see.
