^ first of all not asking for citizenship (and i don't think you can even do that wit EO, but I could be wrong), just some sort of temporary status so we can work, get dl, and not be afraid of being deported. i don't see the harm in trying this especially when everyone is talking about dream act 2012 (that's a long time with no guarantees)

Once again I will tell all the nay thinkers stop thinking for Obama and telling me he won't do it. With all do respect and I do respect you all, I really think you have some inferiority issues and I can understand that. But you are wrong feeling that way. Be proud of who you are. We are not asking much from Obama, we are demanding temporary relief with basic civil rights. If you are too cowardly to ask, then I will ask on your behalf. He can only say no. Don't you think all those other brave Presidents took huge risks in using EO. But they could no longer watch the injustice. And btw Lincoln and Eisenhower were republicans. We need to show our support and encourage Obama to take bold and just action.

The thing that is particularly troublesome to me is that a lot of Presidential or Democratic initiatives came together in the lame duck session EXCEPT for DREAM: 1) Obama's tax deal, 2) DADT, 3) START.

Sure, the omnibus spending bill didn't go anywhere and the 9/11 bill is still at play, but DREAM's failure is a huge albatross hanging over the heads of both parties.

I think any future DREAM campaigns should also focus on the fact that of all the initiatives the Republicans hate -- DADT for LGBTs, a treaty with the Russians, a spending bill for deserving 9/11 first responders -- it was an immigrant bill that they hated the most.
