Why are we getting free tuition at the expense of tax payers?

“Yesterday, the NYC-Controlled Assembly Democrats passed the “DREAM Act,” at a $27 Million price tag for Hudson Valley families, which would provide free taxpayer funded college tuition to illegal aliens. This legislation has now been voted on and supported twice during this current legislative term alone by Democratic Assemblymembers from the Hudson Valley.
We have families struggling to afford a college education for their children. Many men and women in Orange and Rockland Counties, like myself, are saddled with student loan debt that will take years to pay off. Yet our Democratic Assemblymembers are dedicated to taking our tax dollars to give illegal aliens free college tuition. This is exactly why I am running for State Assembly.

We must be represented by someone who will defend our values and our community. As your Assemblyman I will never support taxpayer funded free college for illegal aliens and will be the loudest voice to stop this insanity.

Let us remember this November that Hudson Valley Democratic Assemblymembers value helping illegal aliens more than solving the real struggles we each face every day.”

Piano, correct me if I am wrong, but the Dream Act back in 2009 had nothing to do with us getting free tuition. Tell me I am wrong.

This is nonsense how this type of Dream Act is going to give free tuition to illegals only.

Yeah make it easier for opponents to hate us more and think we are freeloaders.

Taxpayers are paying the difference for in-state tuition? My taxes are funding the public universities. Is that what you refer to?

I'm pretty sure they charge out of state people higher because they want to provide in State people an advantage.

Your logic is like saying my taxes are paying the difference when I to my local beach at $3 compare to out of town people that are charged $20.

How is in-state tution free? When I went to school I had to pay 11k a semester which was in State tuition.
