Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., chairman of the newly formed Republican Main Street Caucus, said its roughly 70 members are working on a letter to be sent to their conference leadership “to show their strong support for solving the DACA issue and that we believe the House should address it now, rather than later.”

House Democrats have said they won’t support a critical spending bill this month needed to keep the government open unless the DACA issue is resolved.

Nice! We easily get to 218 if these 70 House Republicans are willing to join the House Dems.

I read something earlier saying that if the number was in the 30s it would put pressure on Ryan. 70 is way over that so damn.

Why didn't they sign onto the discharge petition?

Maybe they want to negotiate the bill, add some border security before?

It's good news nonetheless.

Probably they want action from the speaker before they move to force his hand. A republican signed onto the petition two days ago so they might trickle in.

Another thing to consider that it might be easier to pass it as an amendment to the spending bill than as a standalone measure.

Third possibility is that they are waiting for the senate to pass a bill down to the house with Dream Act as a rider.

So DA can easily pass the house with those reps and dems ?

70 + ~180 = ~250 ?
