Don’t you have to be a u.s citizen to run for office?

-update

She got citizenship by spouse, doubt she is considered a dreamer since she already achieved the dream.

Yeah - once you get your citizenship, you register with the GOP, buy a gun, and start muttering about those dirty illegals polluting the race & country

This is how we lose support you dumb idiots. She’s still a dreamer, heck the original dream who inspired the Dream Act is a usc now but is still supporting us and being an activist

A Dreamer is always a Dreamer until all Dreamers are legalized all over the world.

Arguing about who counts as a Dreamer and who doesn't is perhaps a silly discussion with no end.

However, the term Dreamer certainly does have powerful connotations and value in public discourse to refer to those who came here as children and are still undocumented. The term Dreamer emphasizes the fact that they (we) have dreams that they can't fulfill due to legal status.

I do think it is a bit disingenuous, perhaps misleading to call Catalina Cruz a Dreamer, especially in these times. She still has a great story, I wish her the best, and she is an example. I take nothing away from her.

As most have said here, a dreamer remains a dreamer. The goal is not simply a greencard or citizenship, then you're set. That's not how it works. One must continue to pursue their dreams, whatever that may be. I hope you understand.

I don't think you thought it out clearly my friend - no worries - we forgive you.

I don't like how some of the dreamers profit from our strife, including a certain group who tries its best to scream all or nothing. The sorriest and most illegal of all: the UWD bums.
