MYFOXNY.COM - President Barack Obama praised a lame-duck Congress for passing several pieces of important legislation before breaking for the holidays, but acknowledged frustrationas well.

In a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Obama called the Senate's failure to move forward the controversial DREAM Act his "biggest disappointment."

"It is heartbreaking," Obama said. "My hope and my expectation is that, first of all, everyone understands I am determined and this administration is determined to get immigration reform done, because it is the right thing to do … and at a minimum, we should be able to get the DREAM Act done, so I'm going to go back at it."

The DREAM Act would have given young people brought into the United States illegally by their parents a path to citizenship if they attended college or served in the military.

Obama said such children grow up in the United States along side other kids and think of themselves as American. He said they now find themselves under "shadow of fear" with the failure to advance the legislation.

I'm still heartbroken, probably will still be. But I won't let the decision by men in office affect my day to day life.
