^^ that's why some have given up. As we grow in age, so do our priorities. You have beneficiaries well in their 30's and still waiting. Meanwhile they still haven't stated a family yet or have a descent paying job. People need to let go.

Losing really cannot be a reasonable solution. I mean yes some people will have to carry there education to another country and find a job and try to come in another path. Hell I am a citizen finished with my degree and am looking abroad because the economy is better and its valuable experience to get a good job in the US. I mean if you are in your 30's waiting to start a family and the such then I would be looking at my options in that way. Because yes it might make you not be able to come back for 10 years but in all reality when you do get back you will be a high earner. This sitting and waiting at the age of 30 or older with an education to me is just people losing the most valuable time of being able to earn in there life. Stagnation is never an answer to anything.

^^ Yea, I agree with you buddy. I wrote a thread earlier about opportunities surging in the Asian markets. I suggested people choosing a degree that is flexible and will put food on the table anywhere.

I am sending resumes to Germany, France, Spain, Mexico even though that would be a tough decision and one Asian country. I have friends that are doing contract work in France and Germany right now making a good living and gaining irreplaceable experience for when they come back. These countries are hiring and there are jobs that Americans are the ones that have to fill them people just know that you can go to jobabrouad.com and other web sites with a search of working overseas and look what they offer. I have not looked into citizenship status but I know if you can land a job and citizenship in France , Denmark etc you can retire at 50 with full benefits and you don't even have to live there after you quite working. Plus the medical is really good in these countries and if not free it is cheap.

Looking back at 2009 and 2010, it's becoming painfully clear that Democratic policy makers never had honest intention to pass CIR in Obama's first term. If you recall, back in 2007, Rahm Emanuel and other leading democrats did articulate their plan to postpone CIR until Obama's second term. We can blame the Republican evil as much as we want, but if you look back at how the democrats fought for the Health Care bill, they really don't seem to have any excuse not being able to pass any sort of immigration reform in the last two years.

The status-quo cannot sustain. Some changes need to take place and both parties know that well. I volunteered my time for Obama's presidential bid in 2008. Hindsight being 20/20, I now that wish McCain won the 2008 election.

Re: 30s being too old, it's never too late! If reform passes in the next 2/3 years, you will regret your decision if you decide to leave. Never give up, that's part of being an American. One of my Professors got her Phd at 45. She was an undocumented immigrant from the age of 23 to 33. Her story is more American than any of those flag waving nativists can ever be. It's never too late! and never forget that your stories are what America is all about.

This is just analysis. Only time will tell. Some form of legalization has to happen some day. Patience is a virtue.
