Dreamers,
I have been selected to be part of an research project through my university and the topic I choose was the DREAM ACT. I will be traveling compiling stories of other dreamers, as well as my own, talking to politicians for and against the bill, lawyers and other types of policy makers in order to examen in depth this issue. We all know what we've gone through, but this is my attempt to make the first ever publication of dreamer stories and evidence, solid evidence, to confirm this is a good step for our country. I also want to make a novel out of this research and use it for our favor. Its never been easy for us, but this is OUR TIME. After finding out that the dream act did not pass in 2010 I told myself "that would have been too easy," and we always have been and will be fighters. It will make our victory that much sweeter.
So this is what I need:
1. Any compelling, inspiring stories of your life so far as a dreamer. I really would like to captivate the reader once its published.
2. Any connections to politicians or ppl who have any titles that would allow them to talk about the dream act with credibility.

I am still working on the context of this research but I am really open to suggestions. You can send me a private message or post below.

I don't have any suggestions, because I don't know what kind of a research project this is, what leeway you have, and how best to leverage it into positive media attention and advocacy.

However, I am willing to help in some capacity.

it is an undergraduate reasearch project. The school is sponsoring me economically to do whatever research I need. I have as much leeway as I want because I come up with and finish the research completely on my own, with the sponsership of a professor.

So is it more political or social/humanitarian?

What you could do is look at specific stories, point out the injustice, maybe in the form of a documentary.

If you have any documentaries you think are inspiring, you can emulate their format.

Are you looking to have it written up, or make a video presentation?

You think we'll be discussed in history books one day? lol

I'm sure states like Texas would censor it from the texts in the education system.

It is more political, but at the same time I am going to look at the social part. I am going to use stories in form of a document to give color to the writing but at the same time Im going to have politicians and lawmakers and such put their 2 cents. I havent thought of the final project presentation, probably something written. I am going to start with it later in the year. If you have anyone who u can put me in contact for this that would be great. Thanks!
