3M CEO George Buckley said President Obama is "anti-business" and his regulation and tax policies could result in manufacturers shifting production out of the United States.
Buckley, speaking to the Financial Times, also said U.S. immigration policy was forcing companies to move research and development overseas.
The head of the Maplewood-based company said manufacturers could move production to Canada or Mexico, which he said "tend to be pro-business."
“There is a sense among companies that this is a difficult place to do business. It is about regulation, taxation, seemingly anti-business policies in Washington, attitudes towards science.”

Buckley also criticized the country's immigration policies. He said 68 percent of U.S. science PhD candidates are from outside the U.S. and would like to stay here, but they have a difficult time obtaining visas. The result: 3M is "exporting our science" overseas, he said. Indeed, a recent Business Journal report illustrated how nearly half of 3M's R&D operations are now outside of the United States.
Buckley's remarks remarks come as President Obama is working to improve relations with business leaders — he recently assembled an economic adviser panel led by General Electric Co. CEO Jeffrey Immelt and named former JPMorgan Chase executive William Daley his chief of staff. He's also started an initiative, led by former AOL CEO Steve Case and backed by IBM Corp., to help develop policies to assist smaller companies.

Hollisterco, take the time to at least attempt to edit and read all the articles that you post! By that I mean, at least space them properly, and read them thoroughly yourself to embolden only the most key pieces of information.

I have no clue why you've taken it upon yourself to post every uttering that merely mentions the word immigration in it.

We all have the internet and are capable of using a search engine like Google to read about the latest and most relevant publishings on immigration. But, this particular site aims to funnel and focus discussion on the DREAM Act.

By posting every random article on the broader topic of immigration really diminishes the already low quality of this forum in that it makes it extremely difficult for other members to input valuable comments which would serve to further structured discussion.

Rather, the mass of articles that you keep surging every couple of hours are receiving very few views and even fewer responses, as no one sees the incentive to discuss them. What's more is that the articles you post get buried in a rapid fashion, by your own doing.

Sigh. Can't wait for your angry response...

Please go back and read my full remark. I did not in any way dispute the fact that this particular section of the forum is meant for News articles.

Rather, I tried to bring light to the lack of quality of the news articles that hollisterco has been incessantly rehashing here.

Try with might to read and comprehend my full appeal for some minimal pretense of intelligence.
