Sounds positive, but what will this mean for CIR/DA progress?
Thoughts??

Quote:
President Obama has picked a strong advocate of immigration reform to head his Domestic Policy Council.

The White House announced Tuesday that Cecilia Muñoz, a former senior vice president of the National Council of La Raza, would replace Melody Barnes at the top of the council. White House press secretary Jay Carney announced the appointment during his press briefing.

Muñoz is now serving as the White House's director of intergovernmental affairs and is in charge of outreach to state and local governments.

"The president has asked, she has accepted," Carney said.

Muñoz is an immigration expert who worked for the National Council of La Raza, the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, until she joined the administration in 2009. The group works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans and advocates legislation that would provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Reform advocate???? Please.

This woman put her foot on her mouth in that documentary "Lost in Detention"; and she has been grilled by Spanish-language media, especifically Jorge Ramos about what is seen as tinkering around the edges of immigration-regulation updates; not actual negotiations on reform towards a legalization program. I say this is meant to get Hispanic organizations and "advocates" in line for the election. Also, what is the deal with everyone else dropping like flies from the White House?

He thinks if he throws a hispanic in a key position, regardless of who they are, the hispanic community is stupid enough to bow down to him and do his bidding.

Small steps. It doesn't matter how fast you're moving, just that you're moving in the right direction.

I'm guessing you want to bow down a Republican instead of Obama?
There is more to politics than just voting. Things are done a certain way because it is beneficial to oneself but not necessarily good for another.
