I may be bashed for this, but my answer is NO.
SB1070 has resulted not only in division between immigrants (undocs and legals) and USCs, but also in AZ's economy to tanking down hard--business closing down, tourism low, boycotts, etc. Not to mention the raise in tax dollars to cover the lawsuits, and the lawmakers responsible for it are now either getting the boot, or being investigated for racial profiling (another tax dollar raise to finance the investigation)...and that's before it's even implemented. Truth is that something like this takes out more expense to implement than a CIR, and any current lawmakers that think this is a good idea is either blindfolded, or surely running some political scheme.

In my honest opinion, it's not worth a compromise.

Arizona has 8.2 percent unemployment and California has 11. So I wouldn't say their economy is 'tanking'

^^

You forgot that CA is a bigger state with more population than AZ.
Cali has 37,691,912 population, and AZ only has 6,482,505 based on the latest census (July 2011), so if you think about the ratio, AZ's 8.2 is really bad compared to CA's 11.

Lol isn't that worse for California? cuz California is biggger. Let's say california has 30mil people and arizona has 3mil people (just imaginary scenario). if they both have 10% unemployment rate, California has total unemployed people of 3 million people verses arizona having 300,000 unemployed people.

Hahahaha...well that's true, but also in the same sense, wouldn't there be also more employed in Cali than AZ? I mean the 90% (imaginary employment rate) of Cali's 30mil is certainly bigger than AZ's 3mil, right?! That's like 27mil vs 2.7mil people employed.

I'm actually looking at it in terms of proportion. I mean AZ doesn't even have a quarter of CA's population, yet their unemployment rate is more than half of Cali. That's what I was trying to point out.

So anyway....

....STOP SB107o-like bills!!!

11% of the workforce don't have job.. this is a huge number. 3% is small, but anything more than 3 is big....

Texas is similar in size to California yet it has 6.9 percent unemployment. The fact is that California is a mess
