"In order to remain viable in the long-term, the GOP must learn from the mistakes of 2012. Marco Rubio may not necessarily be the party’s salvation. But immigration reform can be the means by which Republicans remake themselves to appeal to a changing America. Politics is a buyer’s market, and the GOP needs to introduce a better product – pronto."

The only thing that even slightly relates Rubio to the debate on immigration reform is that he has origins from a spanish speaking country. That is it. I fully understand where this writer is coming from. Rubio has zero experience dealing with immigration matters. He does not genuinely care for the bill as evidenced by his antics right before Obama's announcement. The people who will bring about CIR are OLD, EXPERIENCED Senior senators such as McCain, Schumer, Cornyn, Graham etc. Rubio is only trying to act and seem important because he happens to be Cuban but the fact remains he has zero credibility.

+1.

Not only that but I believe that either he wants to run for presidency some day or GOP believes he could be a good candidate. The thing is for some odd reason people think that because someone is hispanic other hispanics are going to support that person, etc. which is completely not true. It's not about ethnicity but about experience and points of views.

I do agree with you on this statement. They look like they can accomplish more then what Rubio can do. Last time he (Rubio) try to deal with Dream act light, he never propose anything. Numerous times he appear in public stating that he was working on something but nothing came out from his office..

So right, Points of view and stands on politics is what makes candidates more appealing so some and less to others..

If a CIR is passed and the GOP is a major supporter then in the next election all of us that wanted democrats to win because of the CIR, now have to re-evaluate our votes.

I can say that I would still vote democrat, because of what I have seen in the past elections.

Pretty much.

SO funny how Republicans think that I'm going to forget the last ten years of utter debasement of immigrants in this country. SERIOUSLY.

Those are just labels. Why does it matter?

What matters are your benefits not labels.
