I think its a great idea.

Someone should write a letter and post it here so each of us can print it and send it to them, like we are doing with the senators and representatives.

I would do it but my grammar and spelling are bad and i dont wanna sound like an idiot.

Yes this is a good idea. I've been trying to put together a letter on the military aspect, so you might use that if you'd like, or if not, I could help you if you need any info or anything like that

Okay, it is not the Declaration of Independence and probably more than one person can do better. You are welcome to throw mud and make changes but I demand that the corrections have to be posted so that we can get an ultimate great copy to send. I had a lot of truble with the titles, how to name the army guys, Sir? Honorable? Mr.? so that we sound sophisticated and polite? More mud please. For those who are symbolically imparied -you know who you are- do not put your forum name, put your real name and you have to copy and paste the names of the other officials and paste them where corresponding. spelling? I believe HOPEFULDREAMER mentioned she was a master speller.

Dear Mr. Krieg:

I am a member of The Dream Act Forum, and I am writing because a group of capable young men and women do not have the chance to serve in the military.

S. 774, The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2007 will, cancel the removal and adjust the status, of certain students who are long term residents of the United States, and who entered this country as children. As many as 65,000 undocumented students graduate from High School each year. The Dream Act will give this students the option to obtain permanent residency by either, serving the military for at least two years or complete two years of higher education.

Many beneficiaries of the Dream Act will welcome the chance to be part of our armed forces. They speak English, are fully assimilated and have no criminal record. They see it as a chance to prove their love and loyalty towards the country that saw them grew.

Please, endorse the Dream Act as an attachment of the 2008 Department of Defense Bill.

Thank you For Considering this matter.
Sincerely,

Come on guys, if you have an opinion give it. You cannot make it worst. If you consider this good, at least tell me that you are saving it and sending the letters! send the letters because they are as important as the calls to the senators. If one of this persons writes a letter in our favor to the senate, those are huge points. Let's not waster this opportunity! If you are afraid to use your own address, ask your church to let you use their address. Churches really love us and mine allows me to use their address. They might ask you to register but that takes minutes and then you can write a letter to any US official that fancies your eyes. Come on people you are reading this and you want to do it. You are going to feel great afterwards. Like saving hundreds of dollard buying insurance from Geico!

The Dream Act will give these students the option to obtain permanent residency by either serving honorably in the United States military for at least two years or complete two years of higher education.

I'm actually a little unsure about the comma after "Please, endorse....". Anyone want to give me a hand here?

Oh and I couldn't find a better word than "awkward" when I went to reword the first sentence...anyone got a thesaurus? lol

Perhaps unfortunate?

I know it's not a synonym, but it might just work in that context.
