California - When congressional Republicans to make them pro-immigrant activists protests and unions , that does not affect them much, but when the leader of the local chamber of commerce in your district or the pastor of the nearest megachurch does, the influence is much greater.

" They themselves have told us : the tactics of certain groups make things more difficult , leave them vulnerable to attacks from Congress party right . It is much more effective than talk to them people like entrepreneurs, who can communicate the importance of economic immigration reform , "said Hector Barajas , a California Republican consultant .

Barajas is part of a delegation that went to the nation's capital this weekend with a broad coalition of groups including people from tech companies in Silicon Valley (Silicon Valley) , strawberry farmers and the director of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce . The goal: to meet with congressional Republicans to explain that will support if driving solutions to migration .

"It's important that they know that the current system does not work and that there are many sectors , states, telling them that there is a way to improve the situation for the economy , security and families ," said Rick Olivares Tomlinson , chairman of the Committee on California Strawberry , who heads the delegation from that state to a national summit to be held next week in the capital city with the name " Americans for Reform " .

The summit is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States , the Coalition Bibles, Badges , Business and the Partnership for an American economy , such as groups of traditional Republican party's conservative base .

Some of them business people today have a personal relationship with the immigration issue . Olivares Tomlinson is one of them : his grandmother was farming in Texas and California, and this was established in the Gilroy area . "I know from experience what it means that opportunity," Tomlinson said . "Many of these farmers today were peasants before . And today we are leaving millions of dollars in the fields by not having enough workers . "

Ali Noorani , director of the National Immigration Forum , who founded the coalition " Bibles , Badges , Business" , said there is such urgency of these groups to see a solution to the immigration issue that the meeting began as 300 people already in 600 . "We're telling people that we can not accept more participants," Noorani said . " We have 120 meeting on Tuesday , including 80 or 90 with congressmen . They all come with a message: immigration reform now. "

For example , Arizona will the director of the Chamber of Commerce, Phoenix Economic Council , several pastors of mega - churches and the former chief of police of the city. " When a congressman meets with local leaders such , there is an effect . This is the type of person they turn to when they want to support and vote in his district, "said Noorani .
Donors Power

But if the arguments in favor of reform are not enough on a politically charged environment in which many members of Congress are afraid of losing their jobs next year if support immigration reform , the money of big Republican donors , or the lack thereof , can be persuasive.

More than 100 Republican donors have written letters asking members of Congress to advance the issue of immigration and specifically asking to be offered some kind of legal status for undocumented immigrants . In front of that strategy is Carlos Gutierrez, who was commerce secretary during the years of President George W. Bush and who founded a Political Action Committee : "Republicans in favor of the Reformation " , which is raising funds to support consistent with congressional immigration reform.

" What the show are at risk for many of them is going to end if you do not respond ," said Eliseo Medina , SEIU Union . "I have seen and I have had many reports and personal conversations that party's historical base is frustrated with the issue. Employers who give them money for their campaigns realize that the issue is not progressing and that ignored the issue of closing. Are likely to start to divert that money to other party. "

What's with the link in title. Anyway I'm loving how people who donates to the republicans are supporting the cir. This country runs on paying lobbyist to pass stuff anyways and the house not passing a cir despite how much companies are supporting it just is a slap to us saying a cir will happen after they have leached every possible opportunity they can get by not passing it

Old School republicans are wealthy and realize they need cheap labor in the form of immigrants. They may not like immigrants and see us beneath them, but they know we are needed. Tea Party types are political suicide bombers. They don't respect anything and would rather destroy the party.
