Teleconference Invitation

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Expansion

Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015

2 p.m. (Eastern)

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to participate in a listening session on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (Eastern) to discuss the expansion of DACA as part of the recently announced executive actions on immigration.

On Nov. 20, President Barack Obama announced a series of executive actions, including expanding DACA to individuals of any age who came to this country before turning 16 years old and have been present since Jan. 1, 2010. This expansion of DACA will go into effect approximately 90 days following the announcement. The actions also extend the period of DACA and work authorization from two years to three years. During the listening session, USCIS officials will provide an overview of the new initiatives and seek your feedback on DACA expansion.

To register for this session, please follow the steps below:

• Visit our registration page to confirm your participation
• Enter your email address and select “Submit”
• Select “Subscriber Preferences”
• Select the “Event Registration” tab
• Provide your full name and organization
• Complete the questions and select “Submit”

Once we process your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional details. If you have any questions regarding the registration process, or if you have not received a confirmation email within two business days, please email us at [email protected].

1) Can you ask what's the timeline for identifying and closing deportation orders of those who qualify? The DHS memo stated that DHS/DOJ are to do this affirmatively, but they were supposed to do this before and it didn't happen.

2) Can you post a transcript of the call?

So, who participated in this that's willing to provide info? I've searched, and so far today, there isn't an official USCIS release of the transcript.

I found a youtube video. I think this is the teleconference.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22snOSrRcu4

EDIT:
I've just watched it. It's not USCIS teleconference, but still some useful info.

that is not the teleconference. The teleconference was a bunch of people asking questions. I listened to it live, it was almost two hours long

There wasn't anything new honestly. All there was is questions. The public asked questions and they answered. That's all they did besides giving a brief overview of the program. This was only for the new DACA extension. They said they will have one on DAPA once it gets close to implementation date. People asked questions like the age cap, DUI, the representatives pretty much kept answering questions that were on the website FAQ. The kept referring them to the website, I tunned in because I was looking for more info on travel restrictions, they pretty much said what most of us know. That is that you can request advance parole but that USCIS does not guarantee entry. They did not even mention about the matter of Arrabally
