Graham: Trump should 'think long and hard' about immigration move

Trump should consider the consequences of quickly rolling back a key Obama administration immigration program, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) warned Tuesday.

Asked if he would fight a repeal by the president-elect of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Graham told reporters: "I think that is in an issue he needs to think long and hard about."

"Here is a problem that we have: You've got about a million DREAM Act kids who came here as small children, lived here all there lives. Now they have legal status by executive order," Graham said during a wide-ranging sit-down with reporters.

I was just about to post this. I'm happy to see a GOP senator speaking out for us.

Too bad Trump hate Graham for criticizing and not endorsing him during the campaign.

Look, whatever plan that gets proposed it needs to include all dreamers who came as kids including those who came under the age of 16 but were too old to apply for DACA. Obama made a huge misstep that ruined opportunities for millions of other immigrants who should have been included in the program.

Wait

Did he say legal status

Noooooooooooooooo it's going to make people think like DACA is some amnesty

lawful presense which is what DACA give us is not the same as legal status.

Americans do not care about the wording as it's semantics to them. The bottom line is that Daca gives immigrants lawful presence which is seen as a form of legal status given to immigrants to remain in the country.

You can't be that surprise that a lot of people are misinformed about DACA. It's not like it's going to make people change their minds about us. Those who will see it as amnesty will always see it as amnesty just by the fact it gives us a work permit.

Legal status entitles people for benefits like finically aid

Lawful presense does not.

People need to be educated what DACA is. If they knew what it was I think they would support it.

I agree, Americans are idiots. This is why we are able to succeed and they are not. Plain and simple, DACA will always be

Obama's unconstitutional amnesty to them

I just read that Kris Kobach is being considered for A.G.

In other words, we are fucked.

I would like to believe Chyno and the band of rebels on this forum. Trump has no clue what he is doing and he will let all his appointees run the country. I actually believe Trump, if he was completely in charge and up to task, I think he would leave DACA. Trump does not seem like a terrible human being, he is just dumb.

Not looking good.
