Kelly suggested those “dreamers” are still protected — as long as he’s in charge.

”I’m the best thing that happened to DACA,” he said, according to the source. “It is still on the books."

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly struck a defiant tone in a meeting with House Democrats Friday, lawmakers said, telling them he's "the best thing to happen" to immigrants brought here as minors — and if members don't like current laws, they should change them.

"I'm the best thing that happened to DACA.... it is still on the books," Kelly said about the Obama-era executive order that shields undocumented immigrants brought here as children from deportation.

"If you don't like the law we are enforcing, and I don't like many of them, please, please, please change the law," Kelly added, according to multiple sources in the room.

I've always liked the guy. He's the best pick in the entire trump administration.

Good thing Trump was in love with Military Generals.

Good news, I always knew Kelly was a good guy. During his hearing he seemed very reserved and professional. He also understands what our people escape. He has seen it up close.

No surprise here really. Kelly was never against DACA. In fact I think deep down he also would support wider reform. Trump administration is turning out to be a boon for CIR and forget about the other BS, when it comes to DACA, it has done well to keep it alive as expected. Amazing.

At this point, I think DACA will be here to stay for a few more years at least.

I think DACA will be here for long time and there will be NO Legislative Action on DACA, RACA or any bill other for Dreamers. It will be all talk and no action and again this just my opinion.

They have introduce RACA in House on 3/9/17 but still stuck in committee. I hope someone introduce RACA in Senate, like Bridge Act is introduced in Senate and House.
