Meanwhile, some Republicans such as conservative Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas are openly floating trade-offs to protect DACA recipients, even as Democrats insist that Dreamers aren’t bargaining chips for tougher immigration restrictions. In the House, senior Republicans still believe there’s a possible deal to be struck with Democrats: codifying DACA in return for Trump’s sought-after border wall.

If Democrats can't even protect us given the chance how are they going to protect the other undocumented immigrants?

See, this is the impasse... DACA for the border wall is a bad deal, might as well try to bargain for the full Dream Act, but Repubs will want a ton more for that.

There's really no way a clean Bridge Act goes through

If Republicans want to waste billions on a wall, I say let them; It doesn't really hurt anyone except taxpayers. If it can get us at least the Bridge Act then I say Dems should compromise.

They said downpayment... not the full wall. Look at how much money is on the budget.

The Bridge Act is way too little in exchange for the wall. Dream Act, nothing less for wall funding. If you want to settle with peanuts you are part of the problem, because the problem is not really being solved.

I want the dream act as well, but do you really think Republicans will stop at the wall if Dems ask for the DA? Nope. They will then ask for E-verify as well.

Remember, things can change in 3 years with a new administration...

The all or nothing approach will be our demise.
