The president may also discuss with the House moderates potential legislative solutions for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, according to Politico. The Trump administration plans to phase out the program over the next six months.

The meeting was set to include four Republican and eight Democratic House members, including co-chairmen of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, Reps. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) and Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), according to the newspaper.

A source told Politico that the meeting would include a number of other moderates, including Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), co-chair of the Democrat Blue Dog Coalition.

While tax reform will be discussed, members are also expected to talk with Trump about a legislative fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, according to two sources. Trump has sent public and private signals in recent days that he’s open to a deal on Dreamers — undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children — even one that doesn’t include funding for a wall along the Mexican border as long as there are some border-security provisions atached

Moderate house Republicans are the only ones we can get on board so this is a good sign.

My god, I am so grateful General Kelly is in the white house. He has completely helped steer Trump in this direction. I know he is pulling a lot of strings for us in the background. We should write to him and thank him for all he has done so far.

I agree. Kelly brings a little bit of sanity amidst all the chaos.

I love that he called congress out on their inaction. He is a true patriot, standing up for what is right, instead of simply siding with the government.

Called a “hypocrite” who “is a disgrace to the uniform he used to wear,” White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly pushed back against a Democratic congressman's criticism of his character by laying blame on Congress for the impending demise of a program offering young undocumented immigrants reprieve from deportation.

In an email to Fox News published Monday, Kelly said that as the head of the Department of Homeland Security and in his current post he has met with “hundreds of members of Congress” to find a legislative solution to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, an Obama-era executive action that protects more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

“As far as the congressman and other irresponsible members of Congress are concerned, they have the luxury of saying what they want as they do nothing and have almost no responsibility,” Kelly said.

Gutierrez was wrong in saying Kelly was a disgrace to the uniform.

Honestly, it wasn't his fault that the AG's sued. John Kelly has been advocating for us ever since he began leading the DHS.
