Congress must allow time to implement a solution for Dreamers | TheHill
http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-bl...lution-for?amp

It estimates a 7-month timeline for the first applucatikns to complete processing. I think it will take less for those with existing deferred action files.

However, this is going to really disrupt employers' operations and we will lose jobs. Not gonna be pretty, and ijn my opinion, will make HR depts hesitant to hire applicants with near expiration dates.

Yep I am going to be unemployed for a couple of months. Unless we can apply for temporary EADs in the meantime while waiting for a GC (Similar to AOS).

This is an op-ed. Can we stick to actual news? Too much anxiety with these random alternative option articles lol

I like opinion articles. New insights can lead to new strategies.

In this situation if DA were to be approved in about a week, I would not lapse in coverage.

All things considered, what worries me is those who might lapse. What then?

I will assume that we will get something interim. Really depends how it all gets implemented. Using just existing AOS and require an additional form for adjustment under the Dream Act would definitely work here.

The issue isn't setting it all up, the issue is processing times which is why a rubber stamp for EADs would save a lot of asses.

I am okay with couple months of unemployment if it means that we have a PERMANENT solution i.e. GC.

You guys dont understand

If DA is not coupled with omnibus, it will be coupled with raise act

Personally i am ok with DA + raise

But then its chances of passage will slim considerably.

Beehive you fucking idiot, use your brain for once

pretty sure they will come up with language for a grace period so there will be no lapse in the final bill.
