Napolitano to Trump After DACA Ruling: 'If Judge Gives You a Lemon, Make Lemonade'

On "Outnumbered Overtime," Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano said Trump should not be upset, because this could actually help him achieve his goal of comprehensive immigration reform.

He explained this temporary ruling by a federal judge in San Francisco means DACA will stay in place until the litigation is played out or Congress rewrites the law, whatever happens first.

He said that means DACA won't expire in March, which gives Trump and Congress months to reach a deal on immigration reform.

"If the judge gives you a lemon, Mr. President, make lemonade," Napolitano said, predicting that Congress will eventually craft an immigration deal that includes protections for DREAMers in exchange for policies Trump has pushed for, such as the border wall.

"And it will happen before this California case is resolved by this judge."

Hmm, he seems to think we will be allowed renewals!

And this is what I was afraid of. People using the ruling to stall permanent relief.

Right now we are nowhere close to a deal (unless the DEMs shut the government down, which is unlikely)...so I'll take the renewal.

You can have your opinion, but it doesn't change the fact that the Judge has ordered renewals to continue. And being angry at the judge won't change anything.

A DACA fix could be dragged out until March. By then, it would be too late for some of us if something were to pass, we would be out of status/work for months. Renewing our DACA asap would be the best thing that can happen right now to prevent us from lapsing.

Honestly guys it does worry me that a permenant solution might not happen but we still don’t know that and also we have to be thankful we’re not going to lose our jobs and our temporary protection thanks to this judge let’s look at the glass half full instead of half empty .

I'll take the renewal, but I cannot believe all we have been going through for months, all the ups and downs, the fear, the dreams, the planning, the uncertainty, the hope, the waiting, that ALL OF IT was for nothing.
