A centrist House Republican announced Friday that he will bring a recipient of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program as his guest to President Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday amid debate in Congress over whether such young immigrants should be permitted to stay in the U.S.

Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) has invited Adrian Escarate, who was brought to the U.S. from Chile when he was 3 years old, to be seated in the gallery overlooking the House chamber during Trump's speech.

According to Curbelo's office, Escarate graduated cum laude from St. Thomas University in 2011 and received a work permit through the DACA program, which went into effect a year later under then-President Obama.

Childhood arrivals with and without Daca have the support of 80% of the country.

This is a bit ridiculous of Democrats and Rep. Curbelo. It's like parading a sick patient to the insurance companies to convince them to pay for his treatment. It's cynical, lazy, and unethical.

Is he a white dreamer without an accent?

Because according to some, that's how we need to be represented, to "try" to please the conservative racist portion of America.

The white part is just stupid and racist. But yea who ever is going to speak for us should be fluent in English. Arent we trying to sell the idea that we're just like any other American born? wtf is wrong with some of you? Yea an accent is going to make a difference. Especially when we're trying to calm down the real racists and appeal to anyone that wants to sympathize and relate to us. We need to show the whole country we are assimilated and not a bunch of people still pledged to other countries. So yea not only should he/she speak fluently, they should be articulate, like Obama is. We need a great speaker up there.

Sad thing is.. its really starting to look like the Republicans are to stealing the Democrat's thunder. THEY are bringing our speaker? DAFUK!?

Chilean.

Erika Andiola who is Mexican and represents the majority of Dreamers' nationalities should have been invited. Or maybe she was and declined to be their puppet.
