Coons-McCain plan:

Quote:
What it means: The failure of the Coons-McCain plan underlined that with the Republicans controlling every lever of power in Washington, a bill without any funding for Trump’s infamous border wall is a nonstarter.
Toomey amendment:

Quote:
What it means: Sanctuary cities are a deeply partisan issue, so it’s no surprise this failed to win broad bipartisan support. Republicans likely wanted to get vulnerable Democrats up for reelection in 2018 in states that Trump won on the record on the issue.
Common-sense plan:

Quote:
What it means: The “Common Sense” plan seemed like it had the best chance of winning 60 votes, but the White House threatened to veto it, and Republicans who had previously been more moderate on immigration refused to support it. This is the most damning vote on Thursday: No other bill seemed viable, and yet even this plan, after the White House’s intervention and amid intransigence from conservatives, could not win the necessary support.
Grassley bill:
Quote:
What it means: Trump’s preferred immigration plan appears to be unviable in the Senate.

Quote:
Even with the failed votes, there was little disagreement among the various plans on two major issues: the DACA recipients themselves and border security funding.

Every major plan — from the Grassley/Trump proposal to McCain-Coons — would have provided a path to citizenship for young people in the United States who are eligible for DACA. An estimated 1.3 to 1.8 million people who had been brought to the country illegally as children would have received protections under that provision.

On border security, the disagreement was lesser — Democrats weren’t eager to give Trump his wall, but they did appear willing to fund it to save DACA. The White House wanted $25 billion, and the Grassley bill gave it to them. So did the latest bipartisan “Common Sense” compromise.

The real disagreement, then, came down to legal immigration. The White House wanted substantial legal immigration cuts through changes to family-based migration and the diversity visa program. Those provisions were incorporated into the Grassley plan, but it had trouble mustering even universal Republican support.

I think they want to vote on the Goodlatte bill in the House, but it doesn't have the votes yet.

In the end of the day, this is all politics. As far as I understand the frustration of many of you towards the Democratic party for not bend to Republican demands, don’t expect them to fully support a conservative bill just to give us what We want.

Where Democrats really messed up was on shutdown, they should’ve hold their ground from the beginning and demand some done with CHIP, disaster relief, and DACA, all together.

Republicans, on the other hand, don’t want anything to do with us, a very few number of them wants to help.
Trump messed any chances of a vote when he threatened to veto bills, when before he asked for a compromise between parties.

At this point, I hope Democrats takeover at least one of the legislative chambers and gridlock this conservative government.

No to anything that ends chain migration. US citizens rights should not be taken away bc we want green cards.

Unfortunately it's true, there have been hoax mass shootings in recent history. Its a thing certain agencies do, or assist in, to help keep themselves funded and relevant.

Think about why the FBI had tons of tips on the florida shooter and did nothing about it. The florida shooter posted online that he was gonna do a school shooting. They were even phoned in about him multiple times, and failed to get his information FROM THE INTERNET. These are the same people that can track people down through the internet. Who can wire-tap easily, who can activate the snooping bugs in electronics, who can follow people around without being discovered. All they wouldve had to do is contact google, get his information from his user account. Get the IP, go to the ISP, find the address that matches the IP at that time. Now you have him. Geee it really makes someone think.

There is also the curious thing of inner city gangs getting a hold of full auto weaponry. Gee I wonder how they got those guns in a gun free zone. Gee I wonder how they got the guns despite those guns being heavily regulated. Its heavily regulated to prevent normal civilians from stockpiling them in case of a revolt, as they are good suppressive fire weapons.

It also helps out with reducing the populace's firepower if they outlaw certain guns. The government is not your friend, ally, or protector, at best its like some kind of misbehaving cat. Bigger government is always bad.

The FBI and other agencies have track records of being given ample time, and warnings, and failing to do anything about it. Including, most infamously, on 9/11. It really makes the thinker click.

I assume you didnt hear about the guy who was given fake explosives by the FBI to try and do something at the Oklahoma city bombing site? FBI caught with it's hand in the cookie jar.

You wont find this information on CNN(Fake News) or any mainstream media. If more people knew, they'd revolt.
