A coalition of states led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is trying to end the DACA program and they're taking their grievances to a federal court.
But one immigrants rights groups is now stepping in to intervene.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, or MALDEF, filed legal papers in court to give so-called Dreamers a voice in the lawsuit.
MALDEF is representing 22 DACA recipients in the Texas-led lawsuit challenging DACA.

Currently, the case is pending in the U.S. district court.
MALDEF representatives say Texas and the Trump administration share the same "uniformed" view of the law with respect to DACA.

The lawsuit challenges whether DACA is constitutional and asks the federal government to stop accepting new DACA applicants.
MALDEF’s intervention hopes to get DACA recipients involved and have their voices heard in the courtroom.

"If this motion for intervention is granted, that means that the 22 individuals who are the Dreamers will be allowed to participate in the case at the same level as Texas, and as the same level as the federal government," said MALDEF Vice President of Litigation Nina Perales.

No court date has been set just yet, but the Texas coalition has asked for a hearing in district court before the end of July.
